From consultation to the Aveda Rituals, I believe in offering my guest a truly relaxing experience. I enjoy working with all kinds of hair lengths, textures, and with all aspects of color. To stay inspired, I like to attend classes on current trends in hair and makeup. Hair-shows and fashion events are also a great source of inspiration. John Bernal
I have been a hairstylist for 15 years. I was born and raised in Southern California and made the move to the Midwest when I was in my 20's. I graduated from Capitol Beauty School and in 1997 where I was selected as a finalist in the NAHA student category winning an educational trip to New York City. This sparked my interest in always staying current and educated.
In 2000 I was selected for the NXT Team made up of four people from North America lead by Lyle McCaig. As team members, we taught on platforms, conducted photo shoots, and completed media interviews while traveling nationally.
Having the privilege to work with and learn from artists such as master stylist Yosh Toya, Jon Reyman and Sam Villa. My work has been published in magazines such as California Stylist, Omaha Magazine, and I have been featured in Modern Salon. I have styled in several Fashion Weeks and recently became an Aveda Mentor.
My experiences and risks have given me the principles and foundations to make hair work for the person wearing it. As a hairstylist, the greatest feeling I get is when I can make a change in someone's life.

I have been a member of the Five Salon team since October 2009 and am so happy to be a part of Omaha's only Aveda Lifestyle Salon! For me, Aveda IS truly a lifestyle, not just a product line and I enjoy educating my clients on the benefits of healthy, natural hair and skin care. I enjoy working with each individual to find their personal style taking into consideration hair texture, face shape, lifestyle, and personality. I enjoy the challenge and process of complete makeovers, though I also enjoy helping guests enhance their natural beauty and feel good about the way they look! I am inspired by beauty, fashion, wellness and art. After broadening my horizons in England for three years, I returned to Omaha and began working at Five Salon when they opened their doors in 2008. Since being a member of the Five Salon Team, I have worked on photo shoots for several local Omaha businesses. I've also been part of the Hair and Makeup team for Omaha Fashion week since 2010.
It is my hope that the end result of my work is a reflection of the love I have for what I do. I am proud to work for an organization that strives to set an example for environmental responsibility. I believe the education through Aveda as well as its mission is what sets us apart from other salons.

I have been a stylist in the Aveda network for 7 years. I previously worked in an Aveda Concept Salon. I took some time off to raise my children. Being a part of Aveda for almost a decade I am committed to not only improving your looks and the way you feel, but improving the world we live in. I have deeply missed helping my guest not only look beautiful, but feel beautiful. My specialties include color, cutting, special occasion styles, and make-up. I am devoted to keeping current on the recent trends and am constantly pushing myself to learn more about the art of hairstyling. I began working with Aveda when I owned my own salon & became Lincoln's 1st Aveda Concept Salon.
I then move to MN, the "land of Aveda" and was priviledged enough to work with David Wagner and the Horst Salons now called JUUT SalonSpa. I managed the downtown Gaviidae salon, the Roseville Training Salon & finally the St. Paul Victoria & Grand SalonSpa.
I moved back to NE to be near family.
I feel BLESSED to have found FIVE SALON & can't wait to see what the future holds for us! We have a brilliantly trained & very warm staff.
My belief is that AVEDA is truly a lifestyle, not just another product line.
